MARRO'S 2025 CHARITY IMPACT

A look back at what you've helped make possible this year.

Updated this week

Marro has such a passion for ensuring all cats receive the best care. By continuously supporting us, you help make this possible. From strays to shelter residents, your support helps us provide meals, medical care, and a little bit of joy to those in need. We couldn’t do it without you, and we want to share how together we've been able to make a difference.

Mayhew - April 2025

Back in April, we asked for your vote for a charity initiative. We had lots of engagement from your vote and you decided on neutering.

Neutering is an extremely practical but powerful way to reduce the number of stray cats and kittens without homes. We partnered up with the Mayhew who are an animal welfare charity with a mission to improve the lives of cats and the people in their communities.

We are proud to say that we funded the neutering of 700 cats and this is thanks to you. That’s 700 cats no longer at risk of contributing to the cycle of overpopulation.

Meet Alice:

"Alice arrived at Mayhew earlier this year with her two young kittens after being abandoned. At just one year old, she was barely much older than a kitten herself, but she'd already had her first litter. While in our care, Alice was neutered when she was ready, so she'll never have to worry about raising another litter again. Instead, she gets to focus on what every cat deserves - being safe, loved and the centre of attention in her forever home."

Foal Farm Animal Rescue - May 2025

Here at Marro, we are more than just food. In May 2025, the whole Marro team swapped our screens for scrubbing brushes and spent a full day volunteering at Foal Farm Animal Rescue Centre.

We rolled up our sleeves to refresh the cat houses. It was part team-building, part shelter-sprucing, and completely worth it. Foal Farm asked for help to improve rehoming chances, so we cleaned and repainted the cat homes. The spruce-up created a brighter environment for the cats and a more welcoming space for potential adopters at every meet and greet.

The amazing Foal Farm team showed us what true care and dedication looks like, and we were all inspired by the care they pour into every cat.

We all left paint-spattered and proud. It reminded us all that small, hands-on changes can make a big difference to cats waiting for their forever homes. This is the kind of community work we hope to keep showing up for: practical, tangible help that makes life better for every cat in need.

Feeding Cats in Need

Every cat deserves a good meal, especially those waiting for their forever homes. That’s why we’ve donated Fresh meals to cat shelters across the UK this year.

For cats in care, a nutritious, high-quality meal can make a world of difference, helping them stay healthy, feel comforted, and show their best selves to potential adopters. We believe good food shouldn’t be a luxury, and we’re proud to share it where it’s needed most.

With your support, here’s where those meals went:

200 pouches to Mayflower Cat Shelter
200 pouches to Foal Farm
100 pouches to St Francis Animal Welfare
900 pouches to Rain Rescue

That’s 1400 bowls filled with nourishing, Fresh meals and hopefully, a few extra happy head bumps too.

Bringing Joy To The Mayhew Residents

In September, we hosted a team toy-making session, a wonderfully chaotic afternoon involving feathers, bells, string, ribbon and a whole lot of creativity. The mission? To craft a collection of handmade enrichment toys for the brilliant cats being cared for by The Mayhew.

For cats in shelters, enrichment isn't just a nice extra, it's essential. These playful little distractions offer more than just entertainment. They help ease stress, reduce boredom, and bring a sense of comfort and curiosity.

Once the toys were made we headed to The Mayhew to hand-deliver them. It was such a joy to meet some of the cats all of them waiting for the right home, and deserving a few good moments while they wait.

It was a small gesture, but one we hope made their day just that little bit brighter.

Helping with the Cost of Care

We helped Feline and Wildlife Rescue by supporting them with their medical bills. They are a charity in Nottingham with a mission to rescue and re-home stray, abandoned and neglected cats, and rescue, rehabilitate and release varying British wildlife species.

As a small team doing big things, their medical bills are growing and we wanted to help them continue the amazing work they're doing.

Christmas with Mayhew

This Christmas, we went all in, head to toe in full elf costumes and headed to Mayhew with sacks of gifts Santa himself would have approved of. Toys, treats, and plenty of festive fuss, all for the cats who deserve it most.

We spent the day meeting the cats Mayhew cares for, and it was impossible not to fall a little bit in love. Millie, in particular, made her feelings very clear: elves are for lots of head bumps. Nearby, a bonded pair named Chip and Dale were completely absorbed in their new string toys, utterly uninterested in anything beyond batting and chasing their new toys.

It was a small thing for us to do, but one we hoped would bring a smile to the faces of the incredible Mayhew team, and give the cats a few extra moments of joy, play, and treats they truly deserve. What Mayhew does every single day (and especially at Christmas) to make sure animals feel safe, cared for, and never forgotten is something we deeply admire.

So, a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Mayhew for the tireless, compassionate work you do to look after all the animals in your care. We’re proud to support you, at Christmas, and always.

We're so excited for more to come in 2026

Thank you for helping us do more for cats in need. Feeding your cat Fresh food has a ripple effect. It means we can donate meals, time, resources and care to cats who need it most. It’s something we feel deeply proud to do and it wouldn’t happen without you.

So from all of us at Marro (and all the cats who now sleep with full tummies), thank you.
